Welcome to your monthly roundup for January 2026! This month brought exciting roadmap updates for the Ultra and Amp Ultra, multiple firmware updates across the product family, two WiiM Home App releases, and major expansions to our Help Center documentation. WiiM also brought home two awards at CES this January!

Updated WiiM Ultra and Amp Ultra Roadmap for 2026

We published comprehensive roadmap updates for the WiiM Ultra and Amp Ultra, giving you a transparent look at what we're building, what we're exploring, and what we've recently delivered. Check out the full details on our Help Center (Ultra | Amp Ultra).
Some of What's Coming:
Display & Interface Upgrades - Input-specific screen layouts, black background mode for album art, permanent clock display during playback, and direct USB and Favorites browsing on the touchscreen.
Next-Generation Room Correction - BassFit integration for speaker/subwoofer alignment, SurroundFit calibration for home theater, RoomFit+ evolution for improved bass response, CenterFit phantom center for dialogue clarity, context-aware bass management, and discrete dual subwoofer control.
Smarter Audio Processing - Scenario-based presets (Night, Dialog, Sports modes), adaptive dynamic loudness using Fletcher-Munson curves, pro-grade filter import from REW or AutoEQ, and advanced profile management.
Connectivity & Ecosystem - Adaptive source profiles with per-input customization, universal hi-res multi-room, NAS Mode (SMB Write), native Plex integration, improved internet radio engine, expanded wireless subwoofer support, and USB libraries up to 200,000 tracks.

Release Notes: Now localized by app language
OOBE (Setup): Added WPA3-Personal (SAE) timeout alert with guidance to switch Wi-Fi security
Beta Features:
Sync Main Speakers & Sub: Align main speakers and subwoofer for the listening position using the phone's microphone (requires an upcoming beta firmware update)
Standby Source Mode: Automatically switch to a selected input source when the device enters Standby (requires an upcoming beta firmware update)
What's New:
Qobuz Radio: Added support for Artist, Album, and Track Radio (requires an upcoming firmware update)
Room Correction: Added Variable, Psychoacoustic, and ERB smoothing options
OOBE: Improved Wi-Fi setup stability
Screen: Added per-input playback screen customization (requires an upcoming firmware update)
📢 WiiM Product Updates
What's New:
Plex Remote Access: Stream from your Plex media server over a wide-area network (remote connection)
caLocalization: Added German language support for the device screen
User Experience & Interface:
Faster Setup: Optimized the Wi-Fi onboarding flow for reduced setup time. Added a "Cancel" option and clearer device name display during the process
Screen Enhancements:
Volume Feedback: The screen now wakes to show the volume bar when adjusting volume, even if the display was off
Unexpected Screen Wake-up: Fixed unintended screen wake-ups in standby
Audio & Stability:
Streaming Stability:
TIDAL Connect: Fixed an issue causing random playback stops
Amazon Music: Resolved an issue where playback occasionally failed to start
TuneIn: Fixed playback issues specific to NPR podcasts
Alarms: Fixed a bug where alarm presets would not stop playing after the set duration ended
