At the core of the Vibelink is a truly outstanding amplifier that offers a level of sonic performance that very little anywhere near the price can match.
The WiiM Vibelink is a compact integrated amplifier. You will note that, unlike on the previous occasions we have covered a WiiM amplifier, there is no mention of the word ‘streaming.’ This is not an accident. Up to this point, every single WiiM product has been a streamer or an amplifier that is to all intents and purposes an all-in-one with the means to function without source equipment while supporting other devices. Both the Amp and the Amp Pro have done this brilliantly as well; earning perfect scores and delivering unreasonable performance for the money.
The Vibelink is different. WiiM has made the - not unreasonable - decision that anyone that owns a WiiM Ultra doesn’t need another streaming module in their lives and the result is something that looks like another WiiM amplifier but that is designed to fulfil a rather different role.
Of course, you might be thinking that the result is like a pared back version of what we’ve already seen before but this is WiiM we’re talking about here and that would be too simple. The Vibelink is different again to the two amps we’ve seen before and it boasts some numbers that are pretty much unheard of at the price its being offered at. Is this another phase of WiiM’s domination of affordable audio or has stepping outside their comfort zone allowed some flaws to creep in? We should crack on and find out.
